COACHES – JOIN THE USA CHEER COMBINE BAND GROUP IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING REGISTRATION

For the most up to date information & questions about this year’s USA Cheer combines, all registered coaches need to join the USA Cheer Combine BAND group! Click hereto join! Step 2 – Once you join Band group, there will be an “Event CHAT group” within the BAND for each of the combines, and we will post announcements specific to that event in this chat. *Virtual Coaches - The ZOOM link will be posted within this BAND event chat as well as the master Athlete List! Only registered coaches can access the Band.  

Before Arriving to the USA Cheer Combine, Set Up Your Combine Check-In QR Code

Step 1: If you do not already have the NEW USA Cheer app, please find that now in the app store and download it. You must have this in order to “check-in” when you arrive for the event.

Step 2: Open the app and log in using the same USA Cheer username and password you used to register.

Step 3:  Select Events from the menu at the bottom of the screen. You should see the USA Cheer combines and events for which you are registered.

Step 4:  Select the Location of the College Recruiting Combine you’re attending and locate your check-in QR code. Please have the QR code open and ready to scan when you arrive. We also recommend taking a screenshot as a backup.

Please do the below as soon as you register for the combine so you have plenty of time to troubleshoot any issues BEFORE you get on campus at the event.

  • Check your email for specific arrival and table set-up time.   
  • You’ll have a table to display anything you want to bring and set up for your program.
    • Examples of what other coaches are bringing: Branded table skirts, team photos, display uniforms or trophies, stickers, pens, informational flyers or branded items to hand out, etc.
    • Backdrops are optional and sometimes not allowed based on facility.
    • You will not have guaranteed access to power at your table due to high volume of coaches attending each combine, but you are permitted to bring a fully charged laptop to show videos or your website or other electronics if you choose.  
  • You and everyone attending with you, must be registered for the combine and check in at the USA Cheer Registration table PRIOR to set up!
    (All athlete representatives with you, coaches, assistant coaches, etc. must check in and receive a name tag upon arrival). 
  • Printed copies of the athlete profiles will be handed to you when you check in.  
  • Introductions & Tips – please be prepared to give a less than 1 minute overview of your program at the beginning and then one tip for the athletes at the end of the event. 
  • Check email and Band chat for zoom link and start times 2 days prior to the event. 
  • When you LOG IN, please have your “zoom name” be your SCHOOL FIRST and then your name 
  • At the event, you’ll be given a copy of each athlete’s basic information – their name, year in school and skills with space to make notes.  
  • Post-event, you’ll be emailed a master list of every athlete with social media information, addresses, cell phone, etc.  
  • Athletes can access your information on our  College Program Listing.

  • Athletes grade level will be indicated by a color name tag:
    Blue – Junior College/Transfers
    Green – 12th Grade
    Yellow – 11th Grade
    Red – 10th grade and below 
  • Registration – *Make sure you officially get checked in by USA Cheer Staff!

  • Stunt groups: Some athletes will have their own stunt group/partners, but a majority of athletes will be attending as individuals. We will have some time for them to pair up to show skills. Athletes may reach out following the combine about additional skills they're working on. 
     
  • You may bring  no more than 8 athletes from your program to each event. 
  • Every college athlete MUST fill out the College Athlete Representative link to register (free). CLICK HERE 
    • If your athletes have trouble registering, they probably already have a USA Cheer account from being an athlete in the system. They will need to log into their existing account to register. 
    • PLEASE confirm they have registered PRIOR to arriving at the combine.  
  • By registering to participate, they are acknowledging the following: 
    • I understand and agree that, even if I am not a member of USA Cheer, by participating in the Activities, I am bound by and agree to the USA Cheer Safe Sport Code for purposes of these Activities. 
    • I agree that, if I am 18 years of age or above and am participating in the Activities on behalf of a university or college that is recruiting at the Combine, then I have watched the Athlete Protection Course in advance of participating in the Activities. 
    • I understand and agree that USA Cheer may suspend or prohibit me from participating in the Activities if I breach this agreement, violate any of USA Cheer’s rules, policies, or procedures, or otherwise engage in inappropriate conduct or acts or omissions that would be detrimental to USA Cheer or the sport of cheer. 

As a reminder, there can be no direct contact with freshmen or sophomores.  Please refer to your NCAA recruiting guidelines and check with your compliance director for appropriate contact for recruiting.

College Profiles are linked HERE for all the colleges included in our College Directory. This is a comprehensive list and is a great resource to learn about some of the colleges that might not be at your exact event.  

  • Please wear athletic shorts, a tank top or T-shirt, cheer shoes and your hair pulled back into a ponytail behind your head. 
  • Aim to dress presentably, just like you would at any school cheerleading tryout – nice & neat appearance.  
  • Bring a water bottle & light snack if needed. 
  • Don’t forget to REMOVE ALL JEWELERY prior to attending.

  • *If you’d like to stunt as part of your skill demonstration – you’ll need to have your stunt group with you
    (all athletes must be individually registered for the event) or you will need to partner up with other attendees at the clinic. If you are a co-ed stunter, you really need to bring your stunt partner with you for college coaches to see your best co-ed stunting skills. 
  • Table Time with College Coaches – One-on-one time with college coaches to learn more about their programs, make sure you visit with all of them!

Athletes interested in Varsity STUNT Programs:
STUNT has been officially promoted to Emerging Sport status with the NCAA in Division I Division II.  With this elevation comes new NCAA compliance rules
regarding recruiting prospective student athletes. Athletes who are interested in being recruited by a STUNT program are highly encouraged to read through the
following document regarding NCAA eligibility, so you are fully informed of the steps expected of prospective college student-athletes.  In addition, please note
that with these new NCAA guidelines, the amount of contact coaches and current STUNT athletes have with prospective student athletes at recruiting events may look different for each institution depending on their program.    

For example:
– Coaches cannot approach an athlete before June 15th immediately preceding their junior year of high school.
– Some Varsity STUNT programs will not have college athletes with them at combines.
