ICU Junior World & World Cheerleading Championship

April 24-26, 2024

The ICU World Cheerleading Championship is held annually by the International Cheer Union, the World Governing Body for Cheer. The annual competition has become the pinnacle of cheerleading worldwide as the sport is now recognized and practiced in 119 countries. The United States National Team has represented the USA at the ICU World Championship since 2009.

This event is represented by the 2024 US National Team.

ICU International Cheerleading Cup (ICC)
Orlando, Florida, United States of America
April 28-29, 2024

On Sunday & Monday 28 & 29 April 2024, during IASF/USASF Worlds and following the 2024 ICU Junior World & World Championships at Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports® Complex in Orlando USA, the ICU will host the 2nd edition of the ICU International Cheerleading Cup 2024 specifically for Individual “Club Teams” (not National Teams) that are Club Teams, Scholastic Teams (university teams & scholastic/school teams), Gymnasium/Gimnasio Teams, League Teams, Rec Teams, All Star Teams, etc. that will represent their own team but also their country in high level international competition.

The selection process for the ICC is currently OPEN. To apply as a team, please visit the ICC event page to read all FAQ before submitting an application. Applications will close on Friday, April 12, 2024.

FISU World University Cheerleading Championship
Split, Croatia
August 2-4, 2024

After the first historic edition back in 2018 in Lodz, student-athletes from all over the World have once again the opportunity to celebrate the spirit, athleticism, and creativity that make cheerleading such an electrifying sport. The second edition of the FISU Cheerleading is scheduled to take place from 1. – 5. August in the stunning city of Split.

This event is represented by the 2024 US National Team.

ICU Pan American Championships
Ottawa, Canada
September 27-29, 2024

The Pan American Championships have been held since the inaugural year in 2017. North & South American countries compete for the title of Pan American Champion each year. Hosted in countries such as Colombia, Costa Rica, and Canada, the US National Team has remained present and successful at this event year after year.

This event is represented by the 2024 US National Team.

ICU World Cup
Seoul, Korea
November 22-24, 2024

The International Cheer Union (ICU) will host the second annual ICU Cheerleading World Cup (CWC) on November 22nd-24th, 2024 at the Olympic Park SK Stadium in beautiful Seoul, Korea.

The ICU Cheerleading World Cup (CWC) will be conducted specifically for Individual “Club Teams” (Club, Gymnasium, All Star, Recreational “Rec” League Teams, Scholastic/University or School Teams) for the Youth, Junior and Senior age groups within the ICU Cheerleading and Performance Cheer Divisions. All Club, All Star, Scholastic and Rec Teams have the opportunity to showcase their programs on the World Stage as the event will be streamed live on the Olympic Channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Selection Process for the US National Team:

The US National Team Premier teams will have selections at specific locations in combination with our college recruiting combines. The Premier US National Teams are chosen to represent the USA at the ICU World Cheerleading Championships in April (Orlando, FL).

The current US National Team athletes will be given the initial opportunity to compete at any international events following the ICU World Championships. Upon vacant positions on the team, USA Cheer will invite athletes outside of the US National Team on a need be basis.

If a scholastic team is required to compete at an international championship to represent the USA, there will be an application process for coaches to submit their teams for selection.

2025 US National Team Tryouts will be announced after the ICU World Cheerleading Championship in April. US National Team Tryouts are generally held alongside the USA Cheer College Cheer & STUNT Recruiting Combines.

Scholastic (college, high school, rec) & All Star teams/programs are selected for qualifying international competitions to represent the USA. The routines competed at these events will follow ICU style of competition: a crowd leading cheer followed by a 2:15 music section of a competition routine.
