Dallas, TX – USA Cheer is proud to announce the hiring of Katelin Townsend as the new STUNT Operations Director. With an impressive background in program development, event management, and STUNT advocacy at all levels of the sport, Townsend brings a dynamic and seasoned perspective to the role. Her appointment signals an exciting new chapter for the continued growth and success of STUNT nationwide.
Townsend steps into the position with over a decade of experience in the cheer and STUNT communities. Most recently, she served as Assistant Allstar Director and STUNT Program Director at Cheer Athletics St. Louis, where she led the state’s only Club STUNT program and directed initiatives in program administration, tournament coordination, recruitment, and community growth. Additionally, Townsend has made an indelible mark as Head STUNT Coach at Ursuline Academy, where she led Missouri’s first high school STUNT program to an undefeated season and championed the sport’s recognition at the state level.
As a long-time STUNT Official and Chair of the STUNT Technical Committee, Townsend has contributed to every level of the sport—from officiating national competitions to choreographing official STUNT routines and guiding rule development. In 2024, she was honored with the STUNT Outstanding Contributor Award, recognizing her unwavering dedication and forward-thinking leadership.
“We are thrilled to welcome Katelin to the USA Cheer team,” said Lauri Harris, Executive Director of USA Cheer. “Her expertise, passion, and proven track record in building STUNT programs will be invaluable as we continue to expand the sport across the country.”
This transition also marks the departure of Jessica Chatto, who has served in the STUNT Operations Director role with distinction and visionary leadership. Chatto’s work laid the foundation for much of the sport’s current growth—blazing trails, mentoring countless coaches and officials, and helping to shape STUNT into a nationally recognized female sport.
“We are incredibly grateful to Jessica for her tireless commitment and groundbreaking contributions to STUNT,” added Harris. “She leaves behind a lasting legacy, and we wish her the very best in her next chapter.”
USA Cheer is excited for what lies ahead under Townsend’s leadership and remains committed to fostering opportunity and innovation within the STUNT community.
