DALLAS (November 16, 2021) โ€“ USA Cheer announced today a fundraising effort in the lead-up to #GivingTuesday on November 30, 2021, with the goal of increasing resources available for programs central to its mission of expanding access to cheer and growing participation in cheer throughout the United States. Donors will have the opportunity to direct their gifts to one of three key areas, including its adaptive program, its scholarship initiative, and its national team.

#GivingTuesday is celebrated annually in the United States on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It is touted as a “global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world”

โ€œAs a 501c3 non-profit, USA Cheer is in a unique position to grow these critically important programs while providing our generous donors a tax incentive each time they contribute,โ€ said USA Cheer Executive Director Lauri Harris. โ€œBy focusing our efforts on growing our adaptive program, increasing access to cheer through our scholarship initiative, and meeting the needs of our national team, we are showcasing three core areas of our mission that we are incredibly proud of that can truly benefit from every additional dollar weโ€™re able to invest.โ€

USA Cheerโ€™s scholarship initiative is in partnership with Every Kid Sports, a non-profit providing resources for under resourced families to help increase access and participation in youth sports. The collaboration with USA Cheer will enable Every Kid Sports to provide up to $150 in free registration fees for recreational USA Cheer member programs, including cheerleading and STUNT.

USA Cheer is committed to expanding opportunities for athletes of all abilities. The adaptive abilities program (formerly called โ€œParaCheerโ€) offers competitive opportunities for athletes with a range of disabilities and is critically important to USA Cheerโ€™s efforts to offer programming to a diverse set of athletes. Recently selected as a grant recipient by the National Council of Youth Sports, USA Cheerโ€™s adaptive programs are widely respected in the world of adaptive sport.

Likewise, USA Cheerโ€™s national teams have led the way in international cheer. The premier national teams alone have won numerous world championships and are the gold standard for excellence in international competition, while needing athletes to fund their own training and travel costs due to limited resources.

โ€œWe are very proud of the work that we do, whether its increasing access to cheer or showcasing the very best our country has to offer, but we know we can do more,โ€ said Harris. โ€œWith additional resources, USA Cheer can continue to lead the international cheer community and bring cheer into the lives of kids around the country. Iโ€™m hopeful that our many fans and supporters will take this opportunity to help us do just that by donating to these crucial programs.โ€
